Fastest data transfer record!!
A research team from Technical University of Denmark (DTU) used a new kind of multi-core optical fibre, which is capable of letting multiple data streams pass through it simultaneously.
The team set the record by achieving a transfer rate of "45.5 terabytes of data in one second" over a single fibre with one laser transmitter. "It is equivalent to transferring the contents of a 1TB hard drive in a fifth of a second.” Manufactured by a tech giant in Japan called NTT, this technology is now being prepared for commercial distribution
